CHAPTER 11.

An act authorising the Justices of the Levy Court of Frede-
rick County and the Commissioners of Tax of Carroll
County, to erect a Bridge over Monococy River, near
Daniel Sell's mill, on the public road leading from Em-
mitsburg to Littlestown.

CHAP. 12.

Passed Jan. 12,
1841.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act it
shall and may be lawful for the levy court of Frederick
county and the commissioners of tax lor Carroll county, in
their discretion, to levy a sum of money upon the assessa-
ble property of their respective counties, not exceeding
fifteen hundred dollars for each county, in three equal annual
instalments, for the purpose of building a bridge over the
Monococy river, near Daniel Sell's mill on the public road
leading from Emmitsburg to Littlestown.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said levy court, and
the said commissioners may, in their discretion, jointly con-
tract with any person or persons to erect said bridge of
such materials as they in their judgments, may think pro-
per; and may require the said contractor or contractors to
give bond with sufficient security to be approved by said
levy court, and said commissioners, for their faithful per-
formance; and when said bridge is finished it shall be a free
bridge.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall be entire-
ly void, if cither the levy court of Frederick county or the
commissioners of Carroll county shall determine that it is
inexpedient to build said bridge, or shall decline to exe-
cute a contract lor that purpose.

CHAPTER 12.

To be void, &c

An act to change the names of John Henry Alvey, Ann
Maria Alvey, and James Chapman Alvey, the children
of Mrs. Ann McPherson Alvey, of St. Mary's County,
to those of John Henry Cook, Ann Maria Cook, and
James Chapman Cook.

Passed Jan. 14,
1841.


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the names of John Henry Alvey, Ann Maria Alvey,
and James Chapman Alvey, the children of Mrs. Ann

Names changed.
