plan with necessary rules and regulations for its officers
and employees.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That The Mayor and Aldermen of Frederick are hereby
authorized and empowered to provide by ordinance for a re-
tirement or pension system and group accident and health
insurance plan with necessary rules and regulations for its
officers and employees or for including its officers and em-
ployees in any retirement or pension system operated by or
in conjunction with the State for Frederick County on such
terms and conditions as the State laws may prescribe.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-sec-
tion (d) of Section 73 and Section 87 of Article 2B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Al-
coholic Beverages", sub-title "Hours and Days for Sale",
relating to the hours and days for the sale of alcoholic
beverages in Howard County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section (d) of Section 73 and Section 87 of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supple-
ment), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Hours and
Days for Sale", be and they are hereby repealed and re-en-
acted, with amendments, to read as follows:
73.
(d) Class D (On Sale—Taverns. ) The hours during which
the privileges conferred by a Class D beer, wine and liquor
license may be exercised shall be from 6 o'clock A. M. to 12
o'clock midnight. Provided that (1) in Baltimore City the
hours shall be from 6 o'clock A. M. to 1 o'clock A. M., (2) in
Baltimore County the hours shall be from 6 o'clock A. M. to
2 o'clock A. M., and (3) in Howard County the hours shall be
from 6 o'clock A. M. to 1 o'clock A. M.
