County Code (1947 Edition), being Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County",
sub-title "Chevy Chase—Section 4" and amendments thereto
be and the same are hereby repealed and 11 sections to be
known as Sections 96 to 106 inclusive to follow immediately
after Section 95 be and they are hereby enacted to read as
follows:

96. The inhabitants of Section 4 of the Village of Chevy
Chase, Montgomery County, Maryland, are hereby created a
body corporate by the name and style of Chevy Chase—Sec-
tion 4 with all the powers and privileges of a body politic and
corporate, and by said corporate name may have perpetual
succession, sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded in any
court of law or equity, may have the use of a common seal
and may hold real, personal and mixed property when the
best interests of said section may so demand. The corporate
limits of said Chevy Chase—Section 4 shall be as follows:

Boundaries: So much of the area in the sub-division of
land in said Montgomery County made by Chevy Chase Land
Company of Montgomery County and known as "Section 4",
so much of the area in the sub-division of land in said county
made by George E. Fleming and known as "Chevy Chase—
Section 4" so much of the area in the sub-division of land in
said county made by the Chevy Chase Land Company of
Montgomery County and known as the "Addition to Section
4", and so much of the area of the sub-division in said county
known as "Chevy Chase Park", and such territory adjacent
thereto, as is included in the following boundaries: The mid-
dle line of Bradley Lane on the south, the middle line of
Connecticut Avenue on the east, the middle line of Cypress
Street and the North Boundary of Chevy Chase Park on the
north and the west boundaries of Chevy Chase Park, Addi-
tion to Section 4, as made by George E. Fleming and Chevy
Chase—Section 4, as made by the Chevy Chase Land Com-
pany on the west, as said sub-divisions, streets and boundaries
are shown on the plats of the several sub-divisions herein
named, recorded among the Land Records of said County.
The area so bounded shall be known for the purposes of this
sub-title as "Chevy Chase—Section 4, Montgomery County,
Maryland".

97. For the purposes of this Act the following terms
wherever they appear in this Act shall have the meanings
stipulated in this section:

"Chevy Chase—Section 4" or "Community" shall mean the
corporate area herein created.

"Committee" shall mean the Citizens Committee of Chevy
Chase—Section 4, the governing body hereinafter created to
