SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
238 of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "Testamentary Law", sub-title "Orphans'
Court", relating to the compensation of the Judges of the
Orphans' Court of Montgomery County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 238 of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Testamentary Law", sub-
title "Orphans' Court", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
238. The Judges of the Orphans' Courts of the several
counties and Baltimore City shall receive compensation as
herein prescribed, said compensation to be paid monthly.
Each of the Judges of the Orphans' Court for Frederick
County shall receive the sum of Six Dollars ($6. 00) for every
day's attendance upon the sessions of said Court. Each of
the Judges for the Orphans' Court for Garrett County shall
receive the sum of Six Dollars ($6. 00) for every day's at-
tendance upon the sessions of said Court, together with an
allowance of five cents (5c) per mile for each mile traveled
in attending the sessions of said Court, and the Judges of
the Orphans' Court for Charles County shall be allowed One
Hundred Dollars ($100. 00) per year for traveling expenses,
payable quarterly. Each of the Judges of the Orphans' Court
for Caroline, Carroll, Charles, Dorchester, Howard, Queen
Anne's, Somerset, Talbot, Washington, Wicomico and Wor-
cester Counties shall receive the sum of Eight Dollars ($8. 00)
for every day's attendance upon the sessions of said Court,
and the Judges of the Orphans' Court for Somerset County
shall receive an allowance of Four Dollars and Fifty Cents
($4. 50) for mileage for every day's attendance upon the
sessions of said Court. Each of the Judges of the Orphans'
Courts for Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Cecil, Calvert and Har-
ford Counties shall receive the sum of Ten Dollars ($10. 00)
for every day's attendance upon the sessions of said Court.
The Chief Judge of the Orphans' Court for Kent County shall
