(2) Every inhabitant of the Town of Leonardtown who has
reached the age of twenty-one years and who has resided in
the said Town for a period of twelve months next preceding
an election, and every taxpayer of record of the said Town
shall be entitled to vote in elections to be held to fill the office
of Commissioner of said Town, provided that he or she shall
have registered his or her name on registration books to be
provided by the Clerk to the Commissioners of said Town.
Said registration may be made on any Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday or Friday between the hours of 10. 00
A. M. and 4. 00 P. M. at the office of said Clerk, until and in-
cluding the day prior to the date set herein for election of
Commissioners of said Town, at which time such registration
books shall be closed. The Clerk is hereby authorized to and
shall administer to all registrants an oath that the informa-
tion given by said registrants is true and correct.

(3) Every male citizen who has attained his 25th year and
who has resided in the Town of Leonardtown for a period of
not less than twenty-four months prior to the date of the elec-
tion for Commissioner, and who is a real estate taxpayer of
record of the said Town, shall be eligible to fill the office of
Commissioner of said Town, provided that he shall file his
name in person as a candidate for such office with the Clerk
to the Commissioners of said Town, at least one month prior
to the date of the election. Provided further, that the said
Clerk shall cause to be published in any two newspapers of
general publication in said Town for two successive weeks
before the date set for said election, a list of such candidates
so filing.

(4) The Clerk to the Commissioners of the Town of Leon-
ardtown shall cause this Act to be published in any two news-
papers of general publication in said Town for two successive
weeks beginning on the first Friday in April of each succes-
sive year, or on the nearest publishing date thereto, so that
the last publication will occur not less than thirty (30) days
prior to the date set for election.

(5) The Commissioners of the Town of Leonardtown shall
provide official printed ballots which shall be used exclusively
for voting at elections to fill the office of Commissioner of said
Town. Said ballots shall contain the names of all candidates
who have properly filed their names with the Clerk to the
Commissioners of said Town and who have been duly certified
by said Clerk. Said ballots shall contain blank spaces to pro-
vide for write-in candidates who are eligible under the pro-
visions of this Act to hold the office of Commissioner of said
Town. The number of blank spaces herein provided for shall
