in the same manner as is provided in the preceding sec-
tion for the payment of the salaries of the Crier of the
Superior Court, the Crier of the Baltimore City Court,
and the Crier of the Court of Common Pleas of Baltimore
City. Every Bailiff, who after having served not less than
twenty preceding consecutive years or shall have become
physically or mentally incapacitated from performing the
duties of Bailiff from ailments or accidents not resulting from
any own misconduct, shall be entitled to retirement with a
salary of fifteen hundred dollars per annum, payable as other
Bailiffs' salaries are now paid, provided that such retirement
shall be evidenced by a satisfactory certificate approved by
the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, directed to the Treas-
urer of Baltimore City, advising him of the retirement of
said Bailiff, and that said retirement is in accord with the
provisions of this section.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted,, That this Act shall take
effect January 1, 1950.

CHAPTER 337

(House Bill 227)

AN ACT to repeal Section 96 of Article 19 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St.
Mary's County", sub-title "Leonardtown", and to enact in
lieu thereof a new Section 96, providing for registrations
and elections in the Town of Leonardtown.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 96 of Article 19 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's
County", sub-title "Leonardtown", be and it is hereby re-
pealed, and that a new Section 96 be and it is hereby enacted
in lieu thereof, to read as follows:

96. (1) The Commissioners of Leonardtown shall be man-
aged by a board consisting of five Commissioners, two of
whom shall be elected in the even-numbered years and three
of whom shall be elected in the odd-numbered years. Said
Commissioners shall serve for a term of two years from the
date of their election and qualification, or until their suc-
cessors are duly chosen and qualified.
