AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
174 of Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Allegany County", sub-title
"Fire Companies7', and to repeal Section 175 of said Article
and to enact in lieu thereof a new Section 175 as said-sec-
tions were amended by Chapter 141 of the Acts of 1947,
relating to appropriations to volunteer fire companies in
Allegany County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 174 of Article 1 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title Allegany
County", sub-title "Fire Companies", as said section was
amended by Chapter 141 of the Acts of 1947 be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

174. The County Commissioners of Allegany County are
hereby authorized, empowered and directed to pay the sum of
$15, 675 annually to the several volunteer fire companies
so long as said fire companies remain incorporated bodies,
for their benefit, said sum of money to be used by the
respective fire companies for the purchase, repair or main-
tenance of fire fighting equipment or for the repair, main-
tenance or upkeep of buildings used by the respective fire
companies.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 175 of said
Article 1, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Allegany County", sub-title "Fire Com-
panies", as said section was amended by Chapter 141 of the
Acts of 1947 be and it is hereby repealed and that a new sec-
tion 175 is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to read as follows:

175. Said payment shall be made on the first day of Octo-
ber in each and every year by the County Commissioners of
Allegany County, and it shall be distributed as follows: To
the Volunteer Fire Company of Bowman's Addition, the Vol-
unteer Fire Company of Clarysville, the Volunteer Fire Com-
pany of Flintstone, the Volunteer Fire Company of District
No. 16, the Volunteer Fire Company of Bedford Road, the
Volunteer Fire Company of Baltimore Pike, the Volunteer
Fire Company of Ellerslie, the Volunteer Fire Company of
Bowling Green, the sum of $675. 00 each; to the Frostburg
