to be under the sub-title "Cruelty to Animals" and to read as
follows:
70A. Any person, partnership or corporation being the
owner, possessor, or custodian of a dog, cat, or other domestic
animal, who abandons such animal or drops or leaves such
animal on a street, road, highway, or in a public place or on
private property, with intent to abandon it, shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall
be punished by a fine not to exceed $100. 00.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 320
(House Bill 59)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 48A of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Insurance",
sub-title "General Provisions", said new section to be known
as Section 45A and to follow immediately after Section 45,
relating to the prohibition of rebating and discriminatory
practices and providing for the elimination of any conflict
between Section 45 and Sections 99A, 140A and 146A of
Article 48A.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edi-
tion), title "Insurance", sub-title "General Provisions", said
new section to be known as Section 45A, to follow immediately
after Section 45 and to read as follows:
45A. Nothing contained in Section 45 shall prohibit any
rating procedure which has been filed and approved pursuant
to Sections 99A, 140A and 146A of Article 48A.
SEC. 2. And, be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
