(House Bill 62)

AN ACT to add a new sub-section to Section 130B of Article
48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supple-
ment), title "Insurance", sub-title "Life, Accident and
Health Insurance", said new sub-section to follow imme-
diately after Sub-section (7) and to be known as Sub-
section (8) of said section, relating to non-forfeiture benefits
under.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new sub-section be and the same is hereby added
to Section 130B of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Insurance", sub-title
"Life, Health and Accident Insurance", said sub-section to
follow immediately after Sub-section (7), to be known as
Sub-section (8) of said section, and to read as follows:

(8) Any Paid-Up Extended Term Insurance available as a
Non-forfeiture Benefit, in accordance with the provisions of
this section, may be without participation in surplus, but
any Reduced Paid-Up Insurance available under any Partici-
pating Policy as a Non-forfeiture Benefit shall also be made
participating.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 1
of Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles", clarifying the pro-
visions of said section as to the application of said Article.

WHEREAS, uncertainty has been expressed as to whether
Article 661/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Sup-
plement), title "Motor Vehicles", was intended to include all
the provisions for the regulation of taxicabs and whether
Public Local Laws providing for the regulation of taxicabs
should have specifically referred to the State policy on the
