relating to the appropriation to the Civic League of
Hagerstown towards the payment of the salary of a
trained district tuberculosis nurse in Washington
County.

WHEREAS, the provisions of this section are no longer
necessary; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 164 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington
County", sub-title "Health", be and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 297

(Senate Bill 469)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 603 and 604 of Article 22 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Washington County", sub-title "Keedys-
ville", said sections providing that the Burgess of Kee-
dysville shall be a Police Justice for the enforcement of
the ordinances of the town.

WHEREAS, the Constitution and laws of the State only
provide for Justices of the Peace to be appointed by the
Governor to exercise authority of this kind; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 603 and 604 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County", sub-title "Keedysville", be and they
are hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.
