on the first day of the week, commonly called Sunday, any
of the following activities whether or not performed for
compensation: The operation. of facilities for, or the en-
gaging in the playing of, baseball, golf, tennis, croquet,
basket-ball, lacrosse, hockey, soccer, football, soft ball,
speed ball, bowling, ten pins, duck pins, swimming, boat-
ing, fishing, skating or other wholesome sports; singing
or playing of any musical instrument or directing any
group in singing or playing of musical instruments.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 498 of Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Frederick County",
sub-title "Law Library", relating to the appointment of a
Librarian for the Law Library.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 498 of Article 11 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Frederick
County", sub-title "Law Library", be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
498. The Judges of the Circuit Court, or one of them
may appoint some suitable person librarian of such public
law library, and pass such orders for the government and
regulation thereof as they may think proper.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.
