viction thereof shall be liable to a fine of not more than
One Hundred ($100. 00) Dollars; however, the provisions of
this Act shall apply only to Montgomery County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 263

(Senate Bill 359)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 560A of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1947 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments, " sub-title "Sabbath Breaking, " relating to cer-
tain permissible activities within the boundaries of Em-
mitsburg Election District, Frederick County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 560A of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments, " sub-title "Sabbath Breaking, " be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

560A. Nothing contained in Sections 560 or 576 of this
Article, shall be construed to prohibit or render unlawful
during the hours specified: (a) the playing, within the
corporate limits of Frederick City, Frederick County, of
baseball, golf, tennis, bowling, croquet, basket ball, la-
crosse, soccer, hockey or any other lawful sport by any
person or persons, or the officiating at or assisting in the
conduct of the playing of any of said sports by any umpire,
manager, ground keeper, gate keeper, ticket seller, pin
boy, guard or any other attendant, although such person or
persons so officiating or assisting in the conduct of the
playing of said sports are engaged therein as an occupation,
pursuit or business, between the hours of 2 P. M. and 6
P. M. on the first day of the week commonly called Sunday
and in case of bowling between the hours of 2 P. M. and
6 P. M. and 8: 30 P. M. and 12 midnight on Sundays.

(b) within the boundaries of Emmitsburg Election Dis-
trict, Frederick County, between the hours of 1: 00 o'clock
P. M. and 6: 00 o'clock P. M. and after 9: 00 o'clock P. M.
