Taneytown. There shall be held in the Town of Taney-
town an election on the first Monday of June of each and
every year. In the year 1949 and in every second year
thereafter, three members of the City Council shall be
elected and in the year 1950 and every second year there-
after, the Mayor and two members of the City Council
shall be elected, all for a term of two years and until their
successors are duly elected and qualified.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 244

(Senate Bill 296)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, sub-
section (g) of Section 262 of Article 23 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Wicomico County, " sub-title "Salisbury, " as amended
by Chapter 132 of the Acts of 1941 of the General As-
sembly of Maryland, providing for the holding of a
permanent registration of the qualified voters of Salis-
bury in the year 1950, and authorizing and empowering
The Mayor and Council of Salisbury to establish and
maintain a system of permanent registration.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-section (g) of Section 262 of Article 23 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Wicomico County, " sub-title "Salisbury, " as amended
by Chapter 132 of the Acts of 1941, be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read as fol-
lows:

262.

(g) The registrations to be held on the last Monday in
March and on the first Monday in April of the year 1950
shall be a permanent registration of qualified voters of
Salisbury, and no person shall be allowed to vote at any
municipal election held after the hereinbefore provided
registration unless he or she shall have been registered at
such time or at some succeeding registration day. The
Mayor and Council of Salisbury, by ordinance, shall pre-
scribe the system of permanent registration to be adopted
