sioners. The Town Manager shall be directly responsible
to the President and Commissioners for all acts done by
him in the name of the Town, and he may be removed from
office upon the majority vote of the President and Com-
missioners, as hereinafter provided.

(4) The Town Manager shall collect all the town taxes
and water rents due the town, back taxes and past due
water rents as well as those taxes and water rents to be-
come due after the passage of this Law, and he is hereby
clothed with power and authority to levy upon and sell
real estate and personal property for taxes due and in ar-
rears and in default, in the same manner as is now pro-
vided for the collection of such taxes by the sale of prop-
erty by the County Treasurer of Somerset County, and as
an additional remedy he may in his own name as Town
Manager of Princess Anne enter suit at law either before
a Justice of the Peace or in the Circuit Court and main-
tain an action for such taxes so in default, and a judg-
ment in his favor for the same shall be a preferred tax lien
and so indicated by the Clerk of the Court or Justice trying
the case by adding "Taxes" when indexing said judgment.
He shall also be and hereby is clothed with power and
authority to collect past due water rents for the town, and
to turn off the water of the delinquent, keeping it turned
off until said delinquent pays up all arrearages, after hav-
ing given said delinquent ten days notice of his intention
to do so if the water rent is not paid before. The said
Town Manager of Princess Anne shall immediately after
his appointment as such and before he enters upon any
official duties execute to the President and Commissioners
of Princess Anne a corporate bond in the amount of ten
thousand dollars, the premium to be paid from the treas-
ury of the town of Princess Anne. The said bond shall be
conditioned for the good and faithful performance by the
Town Manager of all the duties appertaining to the office
imposed on him by the Charter, the ordinances, and the re-
quirements of the Commissioners, and to the Town Man-
ager's accounting for all moneys coming into his hands be-
longing to said town, and to paying over the same to the
said Commissioners upon presentation of their warrant
or voucher therefor, or to the Town Manager's successor
in office. The Town Manager shall collect the taxes and
water rents levied by the President and Commissioners of
Princess Anne under the annual levy, whether said annual
levy be in accordance with their own assessments or those
adopted and copied by them from the books of the County
Commissioners' office, and make settlement with the Town
