sioners. The Town Manager shall perform carefully, dili-
gently, and faithfully all duties imposed on him by the
Charter, the ordinances, and proper directions of the
Board of Commissioners. He shall also be Treasurer for
the Town and for the Commissioners and shall receive and
keep safely for the uses and purposes of the Board and
the Town all moneys belonging thereto, which he may col-
lect and which may come into his hands belonging to the
said town. He shall always be ready to disburse in regular
fashion the funds of the said town as directed by order of
the president and commissioners.

(3) The Town Manager of Princess Anne shall be in
charge of the water plant in the town, and shall be re-
sponsible for the disposal of sewage, the collection of gar-
bage, the enforcement of laws and ordinances within the
town, the maintenance of parking meters, the collection
of money which accrues to the town from services ren-
dered, including water rent and parking meter fees, the
collection of taxes in the manner hereinafter provided,
and all other activities in which an incorporated town in
the State of Maryland may lawfully engage. The Town
Manager shall have authority to appoint, with the approval
of the President and Commissioners of Princess Anne,
such clerical and technical help as needed to carry out the
duties aforesaid, at salaries and wages to be approved by
the President and Commissioners before the appointments
become binding. Removal of any subordinate of the Town
Manager, appointed by him and approved by the President
and Commissioners, may be effected upon the recommenda-
tion of the Town Manager and majority vote of the Presi-
dent and Commissioners, for reason of neglect of duty, in-
competence, malfeasance, misfeasance, or nonfeasance in
office, reduction of staff for economy purposes, or comple-
tion of the specific task for which the subordinate of said
Town Manager was employed by the Town of Princess
Anne. All subordinates of the Town Manager appointed by
him and approved by the President and Commissioners,
shall be under the direct supervision of the Town Man-
ager. The President and Commissioners of Princess Anne
may thereafter deal with the administrative service solely
through the Town Manager, and neither the President nor
the Commissioners may give orders to any subordinate
of the Town Manager, either publicly or privately. The
Town Manager shall have authority to make purchases of
supplies up to the amount of $200 without prior approval
of the President and Commissioners, and in larger sums
with the prior approval of the President and Commis-
