(b) Officers, men and other employees of the United States
Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, whose personal
passenger motor vehicles are properly registered in the State
of their residence shall not be required to have such vehicles
registered in this State until the expiration of registration in
the State of residence.

(c) With the approval of the Governor, the Commissioner
of Motor Vehicles may issue complimentary guest cards, per-
mits or licenses to persons visiting the State from any foreign
country or province, or may recognize and permit the use of
such guest cards, permits or licenses granted by other States,
for the operation of motor vehicles in the State of Maryland.

(d) The Governor may enter into reciprocal agreements
under the authority of Section 51 above, whereby motor ve-
hicles which are owned by residents, firms or corporations of
another state, and registered in such other state, but oper-
ated by residents of Maryland and in the usual custody of
such residents of Maryland, may for an unlimited period be
held and operated in such custody without being required to
register such vehicles in Maryland. Any such reciprocal agree-
ment shall be limited to situations in which the owner of the
motor vehicle, and the person, firm, or corporation in the
name of which such motor vehicle is registered, is an employer
of the resident of Maryland having the usual operation and
custody of such motor vehicle. The reciprocal agreement shall
provide that before any such motor vehicle shall be extended
the privileges of such agreement, the resident of Maryland
having the usual operation and custody of such vehicle shall
file with the Department a statement showing the license
number of such vehicle, the name and address of the owner's
place of business, and the name and address of the said resi-
dent of Maryland.

SEC. 2. And be it -further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
