CHAPTER 176
(House Bill 331)
AN ACT to repeal Section 872 of Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Char-
ter (1938 Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Police
Commissioner", said section relating to the appointment
of an Assistant Secretary to the Police Commissioner of
Baltimore City.
WHEREAS., the law providing for the appointment and
compensation of all the personnel in the Police Department
makes this section unnecessary; now therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 872 of Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Charter (1938
Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Police Commis-
sioner", be and it is hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be It further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 177
(House Bill 334)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
42, 43 and 43G of the Prince George's County Code (1943
Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County", sub-title
"Bladensburg", as said sections were enacted by Chapter
341 of the Acts of 1947, providing for the election of the
Town Treasurer of Bladensburg by the Mayor and Town
Council.
SECTION 1. Be It enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 42, 43 and 43G of the Prince George's
County Code (1943 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's
County", sub-title "Bladensburg", as said sections were en-
acted by Chapter 341 of the Acts of 1947 be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
