CHAPTER 174
(House Bill 328)

AN ACT to repeal Section, 878 of Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Charter
(1938 Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Police
Commissioner", said sections relating to desk sergeants.

WHEREAS,, the acts specifying the number and compensation
of the members of the Police Department of Baltimore City
have superseded the provisions of this section; now therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 878 of Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Charter (1938
Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Police Commis-
sioner", be and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And ~be< it further enacted,, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

Approved March 31, 1949.

CHAPTER 175
(House Bill 330)

AN ACT to repeal Section 898 of Article 4 of the Code of

Examiners", relating to the appointment of a secretary to
the Chief Inspector.

WHEREAS,, the acts specifying the number and compensa-

City have superseded the provisions of this section; now
therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 898 of Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Charter (1938
Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Police Exam-
iners", be and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
