To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the General Election
held in this State on Tuesday, November 2, 1948, an Act
known as Chapter 11 of the Acts of the Special Session of
the General Assembly of 1948, was submitted to the voters
of Calvert County, Maryland, for their adoption or rejection
under the provisions thereof, said Act being:

"An Act to add two new sections to Article 5 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Calvert County", to be under sub-title
"Schools", authorizing the Board of Education of Cal-
vert County to provide certain transportation to
children attending certain school in said County. "

AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 759 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 11 of the Acts of the
Special Session of 1948, and 2, 031 votes were cast against the
adoption of said Act, and a majority being cast against the
adoption of the said referred law, it has therefore failed of
ratification.
