To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY,, That at a special Election
held in St. Mary's County, on December 9, 1947, an Act
known as Chapter 32 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland Special Session of 1947, was submitted to the
voters of St. Mary's County for their adoption or rejection
under the provisions thereof, said Act being:

"An Act to authorize the County Commissioners of St.
Mary's County to designate by Resolution, the type of
coin operated machines upon which a gross receipts
tax has been imposed by said County Commissioners
under the provisions of Chapter 601 of 1947 and author-
izing said County Commissioners by Resolution, to im-
pose a license fee upon such machines and providing
for a referendum thereon".

AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 2, 225 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 32 of the Special
Session of 1947 and 1, 249 votes were case against the adop-
tion of said Act; a majority being cast in favor of the adop-
tion of the said referred law, it has therefore been ratified
by the voters of St. Mary's County.
