To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY^ That at the General Election
held in this State on Tuesday, November 2, 1948, an Act
known as Chapter 7 of the Acts of the Special Session of
November 5, 1947, was submitted to the voters of Baltimore
County, Maryland, for their adoption or rejection under the
provisions thereof, said Act being:
'An Act to add a new section to Article 3 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
'County Commissioners7, said section to be known as
Section 127B, authorizing the County Commissioners
of Baltimore County to have and exercise within the
limits of Baltimore County, the power during 1948 to
tax distilled spirits, etc., and providing for a referen-
dum on the question as to whether the County Com-
missioners shall continue to have such powers for the
years 1949, 1950 and 1951. "
AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 51, 818 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 7 of the Acts of the
Special Session of November 5, 1947, and 8, 748 votes were
cast against the adoption of said Act, and a majority being
cast in favor of the referred law, it was therefore ratified by
the voters of Baltimore County.
