OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE
To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the General Election
held in this State on Tuesday, November 2, 1948, an Act
known as Chapter 669 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1947, was submitted to the duly qualified
voters of Allegany County, Maryland, for their adoption or
rejection under the provisions of Article 16 of the Constitu-
tion of the State, said Act being:
"An Act to direct the County Commissioners of Allegany
County to borrow One Hundred and Forty Thousand
Dollars for the purchase of voting machines by the
Board of Supervisors of Elections, "
AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 6, 824 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 669 of the Acts of 1947,
and 9, 855 votes were cast against the adoption of said Act,
and a majority being cast against the adoption of the said
referred law, it has failed of ratification.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
