To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the General Election
held in this State on Tuesday, November 2, 1948, an Act
known as Chapter 638 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1947, was submitted to the duly qualified voters of Anne
Arundel County, Maryland, for their adoption or rejection
under the provisions of Article 16 of the Constitution of the
State, said Act being:

"An Act to add nine sections to Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
'Anne Arundel County', to be under sub-title 'Business
Manager', creating the office of County Business Man-
ager for Anne Arundel County, prescribing his powers
and duties and abolishing the offices of Budget Super-
visor and County Roads Engineer. "

AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 5, 411 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 638 of the Acts of
1947, and 5, 016 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Act, and a majority being cast in favor of the referred law,
it was therefore ratified by the voters of Anne Arundel
County.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-

at the City of Annapolis, this 4th day of
