OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE
To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the General Election
held in this State on Tuesday, November 2, 1948, an Act
known as Chapter 623 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1947, was submitted to the duly qualified voters of the
State of Maryland for their adoption or rejection under the
provisions of Article 14 of the Constitution of the State, said
Act being:
"An Act to propose an amendment to Article 38 of the
Declaration of Rights of the Constitution of Maryland,
relating to the consent of the General Assembly to
certain gifts, grants, deeds, devises and bequests for
religious purposes. "
AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 160, 800 votes were
cast in favor, of the adoption of Chapter 623 of the Acts of
1947, and 62, 527 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Act, and a majority being cast for the adoption thereof, it
was therefore ratified by the voters of the State of Maryland.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
