OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE
To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the General Election
held in this State on Tuesday, November 2, 1948, an Act
known as Chapter 563 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1947, was submitted to the duly qualified voters of the
State of Maryland for their adoption or rejection under the
provisions of Article 16 of the Constitution of the State, said
Act being:
"An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
4 of Article 66 1/2 of the Code of Public General Laws
(1943 Supplement), title 'Motor Vehicles', sub-title
'Administration—Registration—Titling7, relating to the
Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, the term of office and
duties. "
AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 117, 789 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 563 of the Acts of
1947, and 140, 287 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Act, and a majority being cast against the adoption of the
said referred law, it has failed of ratification.
