To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II, SECRETARY OF STATE, OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the referendum elec-
tion held in the Town of Upper Marlboro, in this State, an Act
known as Chapter 457 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
1947, was submitted to the voters of the Town of Upper Marl-
boro for their adoption or rejection, under the provisions
thereof, said Act being:

"An Act to provide for the grant of zoning and condemna-
tion powers to the Town Commissioners of Upper Marl-
boro. "

AND i DO CERTIFY, That at the said election duly held the
following votes wrere cast:

For Zoning Act Against Zoning Act

A majority of the votes being cast against the adoption of
said Chapter 457 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1947,
the said Act has failed of ratification.
