To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II, SECRETARY OF STATE> OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, that at a special election held
in the Town of Hurlock, on June 7, 1947, an Act known as
Chapter 417 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1947,
was submitted to the voters of Hurlock for their adoption
or rejection under the provisions thereof, said Act being:
"An Act to authorize and empower the Mayor and Council
of Hurlock to borrow a sum or sums of money not
exceeding $30, 000; and to use the money so borrowed
for the purpose of constructing a combined fire-engine
house and City Hall in said municipality. "
AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 120 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 417 of the Session of 1947,
and 154 votes were cast against the adoption of said Act; a
majority being cast against the adoption of the said referred
law, it has, therefore, failed of ratification.
