To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II, SECRETARY OF STATE, OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a special election
held in Ocean City on August 4, 1947, an Act known as Chap-
ter 397 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1947, was sub-
mitted to the voters of Ocean City for their adoption or rejec-
tion under the provisions thereof, said Act being:

"An Act to authorize the Mayor and City Council to
borrow a sum not exceeding One Hundred Thousand
Dollars, to finance extension of water mains and im-
provements of the City water system. "

AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 58 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 397 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1947, and 49 votes were cast against the
adoption of said Act; a majority being cast in favor of the
adoption of the said referred law, it has therefore been ratified
by the voters of Ocean City.
