To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II., SECRETARY OF STATE, OF THE
STATE OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in
Section 203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1947 Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a special elec-
tion held in the Town of Hurlock, on June 7, 1947, an Act
known as Chapter 356 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
1947, was submitted to the voters of Hurlock for their adop-
tion or rejection under the provisions thereof, said Act being:
An Act to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Sec-
tions 10, 11 and 12 of the Charter of the Town of Hur-
lock, in Dorchester County, as enacted by Chapter-
801 of the Acts of 1941, relating to the compensation
of the Mayor, Councilmen, and Clerk of Hurlock.
AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 85 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 356 of the Session of
1947, and 179 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Act; a majority being cast against the adoption of said re-
ferred law, it has, therefore, failed of ratification.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
