To the Cleric of the Court of Appeals:

I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II., SECRETARY OF STATE,, OF THE
STATE OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in
Section 203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1947 Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the Referen-
dum Election held in Hyattsville, Prince George's County,
Maryland, on Monday, May 5, 1947, an Act known as Chapter
303 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1947, was submitted
to the voters of Hyattsville, Maryland, for their adoption or
rejection under the provisions thereof, said Act being:

An Act to provide an increase in the compensation of
the Mayor and Councilmen, of the City of Hyatts-
ville, providing that this Act shall not take effect
until it has been submitted to the qualified voters of
such municipality and approved by a majority of per-
sons voting thereon.

AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 493 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 303 of the Acts of the
Session of 1947, and 380 votes were cast against the adop-
tion of said Act, and a majority being cast in favor of the
referred law, it was therefore, ratified by the voters of
Hyattsville.
