OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE
To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II., SECRETARY OF STATE, OF THE
STATE OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in
Section 203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1947 Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the Gen-
eral Election held in this State on Tuesday, November 2, 1948,
an Act known as Chapter 239 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1947, was submitted to the voters of Cecil
County, Maryland for their adoption or rejection under the
provisions of Article 16 of the Constitution of the State, said
Act being:
An Act to add two new sections to Article 8 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Cecil County", to be under new sub-title "Marri-
ages" prohibiting the solicitation of marriages and the
loitering in or about public buildings, public streets,
highways, pavements for the purpose of soliciting
marriages.
AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 4, 308 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 239 of the Acts of
1947, and 1, 457 votes were cast against the adoption of the
said Act, and a majority being cast in favor of the said
referred law, it was therefore ratified by the voters of Cecil
County.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-

at the City of Annapolis, this 4th day of
