OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE
To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II., SECRETARY OF STATE, OF THE
STATE OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in
Section 203, of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1947 Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at the Gen-
eral Election held in this State on Tuesday, November 2, 1948,
an Act known as Chapter 109 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1947, was submitted to the duly qualified voters
of the State of Maryland, for their adoption or rejection
under the provisions of Article 14 of the Constitution of the
State, said Act being:
An Act to propose an amendment to Section 1 of Article
II, title "Executive Department7', of the State Con-
stitution, to provide that a Governor who has served
two consecutive popular elective terms of office shall
not be eligible to succeed himself for the term im-
mediately following the second of his two consecutive
terms.
AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 162, 043 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 109 of the Acts of
1947, and 106, 255 votes were cast against the adoption of
said Act, and a majority being cast for the adoption thereof,
it was therefore ratified by the voters of the State of Mary-
land.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
scribed my name and affixed my Official Seal,
at the City of Annapolis, this 4th day of
