SECTION 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act
is hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety, and having been passed by a yea and nay vote,
supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to
each of the two Houses of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

CHAPTER 121

(Senate Bill 319)

AN ACT to repeal Section 229 of Article 22 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County", sub-title "Hagerstown", as said
section was amended by Chapter 594 of the Acts of 1943,
and to enact a new Section 229 in lieu thereof, enlarging
and redefining the boundaries of the City of Hagerstown.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 229 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington
County", sub-title "Hagerstown", as said section was
amended by Chapter 594 of the Acts of 1943, be and it is
hereby repealed, and that a new Section 229 be and it is
hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to read as follows:

229. The taxable limits of the City of Hagerstown are
declared to be as follows: Beginning at a stone in the north
marginal line of the County Road leading from the Hagers-
town-Leitersburg Turnpike to Fiddlersburg, said stone
being 1850 feet East of the East marginal line of said
Turnpike and running thence in a Northeastwardly direc-
tion and at right angles to said North marginal line of
said County Road North 17 degrees 071/£ minutes East
400 feet, thence at right angles and in a Northwestwardly
direction North 72 degrees 52^ minutes West, with the
same bearing as that of the aforesaid North marginal
line of the said County Road, 1917. 55 feet to the center of
the aforesaid Hagerstown-Leitersburg Turnpike; thence
along said Turnpike North 10 degrees 41 minutes East
529. 6 feet, thence leaving said Turnpike and running
North 63 degrees 22 minutes West 1497. 1 feet, thence
South 31 degrees 15 minutes West 797. 68 feet, thence
