1902 JOINT RESOLUTIONS.

complete its work and to submit its report thereon, in accord-
ance with the provisions of said Joint Resolution; therefore,,
be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Governor be and he is hereby requested to continue said
Special Commission authorized by Joint Resolution No. 10
of 1947 to study and revise the Workmen's Compensation
Laws, said Special Commission to submit its report and recom-
mendations to the Governor and Legislative Council not later
than November 1, 1949, and to the General Assembly at the
beginning of its next regular session.

(Senate Joint Resolution 9)

Joint Resolution expressing gratitude and appreciation to
Senator P. G. Stromberg, Chairman, Delegate Clarence E.
Tyler, Vice-Chairman, and the members of the Joint Com-
mittee on Mental Hospitals and Dr. Elwyn A. Mauck,
Secretary, for the study of the Mental Hospitals of Mary-
land.

WHEREAS, on January 26th, 1949, a Joint Committee of the
House and Senate was appointed to study the State Mental
Hospitals and on the same date Senator P. G. Stromberg was
designated as Chairman, Delegate Clarence E. Tyler was
named as Vice-Chairman, and Dr. Elwyn A. Mauck was
named Secretary; and

WHEREAS, there have been twenty-six meetings of the Com-
mittee under the leadership of Senator Stromberg and Dele-
gate Tyler and sub-committees, consisting of one-half of the
membership of the full committee have visited every State
mental hospital in Maryland and in all of these meetings
every member shared in the work; and

WHEREAS, under the direction of Senator Stromberg and
Delegate Tyler, a monumental and exhaustive study was
made by the Committee and its report, consisting of more
than 100 pages, was submitted to a Joint Session of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland on March 9th, within forty-one
