an annual salary of Fifty-Five Hundred Dollars ($5, 500).
All of the said salaries shall be payable semi-monthly by
the Treasurer of said county. Said Board of County Com-
missioners are required to meet for the transaction of public
business, at their office at Towson on Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of each week, and shall
be subject to call by the President of the Board at any
additional time or times that he may deem their presence
necessary for the transaction of business, the discharge
of their official duties, or the exercise of any powers vested
in them by either local or general laws. The President of
the Board of County Commissioners, in addition to attending
at the required meeting times of the Board hereinabove set
forth, shall be available as the executive head and repre-
sentative of the Board to the extent necessary to exercise
effectively the powers conferred upon him.

SEC. 2. And be> it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-sec-
tion (a) of Section 340 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Baltimore County (Smith's 1948 Edition), title "Public
Works", sub-title "Sewer and Water" (Metropolitan Dis-
trict), eliminating the provision as to the time of meet-
ings of the County Commissioners of Baltimore County for
the transaction of business under the Metropolitan Dis-
trict Act, and increasing the compensation of said Com-
missioners for the discharge of their duties thereunder
after December 1, 1950.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section (a) of Section 340 of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Baltimore County (Smith's 1948 Edition),
title "Public Works", sub-title "Sewer and Water" (Metro-
politan District), be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
