sary for the use thereof, and to prescribe penalties for the
violation of any such rules, orders and regulations. Signs
and markers appropriately describing such rules, orders and
regulations shall be placed along the highways affected there-
by and such rules, orders and regulations shall be kept in a
separate docket or journal in the office of said Commissioners
in accordance Avith the provisions of Section 317 hereof.
SEC. 2. And ~b& it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 717
(House Bill 358)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 39
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County
(Smith's 1948 Edition), title "County Commissioners", re-
lating to the powers and duties of the Board of County
Commissioners of Baltimore County and its President,
eliminating the provision for sittings of said Board for
the purpose of reviewing assessments and making abate-
ments, and increasing the salary of the President and
other members of said Board beginning December 1, 1950.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 39 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Baltimore County (Smith's 1948 Edition), title "County
Commissioners", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
39. There shall be three County Commissioners of Balti-
more County who shall hold office for the term of four years
and shall be eligible for re-election. During the term of the
present incumbents that one of the County Commissioners
who is designated as President of the Board of County Com-
missioners shall receive an annual salary of Fifty-Four
Hundred Dollars (f5, 400), and the other two County Com-
missioners shall receive an annual salary of Forty-Two
Hundred Dollars ($4, 200). Beginning December 1/1950,
that one of the County Commissioners who is designated as
President of the Board of County Commissioners shall re-
ceive an annual salary of Seven Thousand Dollars ($7, 000),
and the other two County Commissioners shall each receive
