the two or more candidates who have so received an equal
number of votes cast shall have their names placed on the
ballot for the municipal general election, for Mayor or City
Councilman as the case may be. The voters then shall indi-
cate their choices at the municipal general election from
among a greater number of candidates for Mayor than two,
or from among a greater number of candidates for City
Councilman than eight, as the case may be.

21. COST. The Mayor and City Council shall pay all
actual and reasonable expenses of said primary election, on
behalf of the Board of Election Supervisors.

22. VOTING MACHINES. If the Board of Election
Supervisors conducts county elections by the use of voting
machines, such machines also shall be used in the said pri-
mary election, with the other provisions of this sub-title to
be modified accordingly.

GENERAL ELECTIONS

23. DATE. The general election shall be held on the third
Tuesday in March, 1950, and on the same day in every second
year thereafter.

24. ELECTION SUPERVISORS. The Board of Election
Supervisors of Allegany County shall conduct the municipal
general election in the City. Except as otherwise provided
herein, it shall follow generally the procedures and the re-
quirements for conducting elections in Allegany County, as
found in Article 33 of the Annotated Code, title "Elections".

25. BALLOTS. Beginning not less than seven days prior
to the municipal general election, the said Supervisors shall
publish for three successive days in each daily newspaper
published in the City, a sample ballot, following the form
and arrangement as required elsewhere in this Article for
primary elections. The ballots for the general election shall
be printed and arranged in the same form.

26. REFERENDA. The City Clerk shall certify to the
Board of Election Supervisors, at least thirty days before
every municipal general election, any question or questions
to be placed before the voters of the City at such general
election. The Board shall thereupon prepare the sample bal-
lots for publication and also the ballots for the election so as
to include thereon the said question or questions.

27. WARDS AND PRECINCTS. Wards and precincts
for the municipal general election shall be as established for
the municipal primary election.
