CHAPTER 697
(Senate Bill 494)

AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commission-
ers of Frederick, Harford and Kent Counties to levy and
pay an additional sum to certain teachers of said Coun-
ties who have been retired on pension.

WHEREAS, Some of the teachers of Frederick, Harford
and Kent Counties who have been retired on pension
receive very small sums which are entirely inadequate at
the present time! now therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Frederick, Harford and
Kent Counties be and they are hereby authorized and
directed to pay to each teacher of said Counties who has
been retired on pension and who receives less than $100. 00
per month, an additional $25. 00 per month, but in no event
shall any payments be made to any teacher which will
make the payments more than $100. 00 per month. The
County Commissioners of Frederick, Harford and Kent
Counties are furthermore authorized and directed to levy
a sufficient sum each year to pay the increased pensions
authorized by this Act.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to create the school building fund of Somerset
County, defining the sources of the moneys to be paid
into said fund and relating generally to the expenditure
of the moneys in said fund.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Somerset County shall
borrow for said county, under the provisions of Senate
Bill No. 442 as passed by the General Assembly at its
Regular Session of 1949, the sum of Eight Hundred
