WM. PRESTON LANE, JR., GOVERNOR. 1507

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 416 to 436 inclusive of Flack's Code of
Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition),
being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Anne Arundel County", be and the same are here-
by repealed and in lieu thereof 17 new sections be and the same
are hereby added to said Code, said new sections to be known
as Sections 416, 417, 418, 419, 420, 421, 422, 423, 424, 425,
426, 427, 428, 429, 430, 431, 432 and to follow immediately
after Section 415 of said Code, and to be under a new sub-
title "Police Department", and to read as follows:

416. Police Department.

(a) The Police Department of Anne Arundel County is
hereby created and established. It shall consist of:

(1) The Anne Arundel County Police Force.

(2) The Board of Police Examiners.

(3) Such other employees and agencies as shall be au-
thorized by law.

(b) The Headquarters of the Police Department of Anne
Arundel County shall be located at Ferndale.

(c) The Sub-Stations of said department shall be con-
structed or acquired by the Board of Police Examiners with
the approval of the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County.

(d) No members of the Police Department of Anne
Arundel County shall be vested with police power other
than the members of the Police Force.

417. Board of Police Examiners. The Board of Police
Examiners shall consist of:

(a) The County Business Manager of Anne Arundel County,
member, ex officio.

(b) A resident voter and taxpayer of Anne Arundel
County, owning property assessed for taxation in Anne
Arundel County for at least fifteen hundred dollars
($1500. 00). The said member shall be appointed by the Gov-
ernor of Maryland from a list of three (3) names of per-
sons submitted to the Governor by the County Commis-
sioners of Anne Arundel County. The Governor may reject
all of the names so submitted to him, and call upon the
County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County to submit
additional lists of names. The member of the Board ap-
