pointed by the Governor shall receive for his services an
annual salary of three hundred dollars ($300. 00).
(1) The first member of the Board appointed by the
Governor shall be appointed for a term of four (4) years
beginning June 1, 1949. Thereafter, all members of the
Board appointed by the Governor shall be appointed for
terms of six (6) years. All terms to begin on June 1st.
(2) The member of the Board appointed by the Governor
shall be removable by the Governor at any time, for cause.
(c) An experienced physician who shall be a resident
voter and taxpayer of Anne Arundel County owning property
assessed for taxation in Anne Arundel County of at least
fifteen hundred dollars ($1500. 00). He shall be appointed
by the Board of County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County, and shall be designated as the Medical Examiner
of the Board of Police Examiners.
(d) All subsequent Medical Examiners appointed to the
Board shall be appointed by the County Commissioners of
Anne Arundel County, for a term of six (6) years. All terms
of office shall begin on June 1st. The Medical Examiner
shall receive as full compensation for his services an annual
salary of six hundred dollars ($600. 00). The Medical Exam-
iner shall examine all applicants for appointment or pro-
motion to and in the Anne Arundel County Police Force as
to their physical and mental qualifications. The physician so
appointed may be removed by the County Commissioners of
Anne Arundel County, only for cause, and after a hearing.
(e) All vacancies in the office of the appointive members
of the Board of Police Examiners shall be filled by the Gov-
ernor and Board of County Commissioners respectively for
the remainder of the unexpired term.
(f) The appointive members of the Board of Police Ex-
aminers shall hold no other public office or position what-
ever, appointive or elective, or any office in any political
club or organization.
(g) The member of the Board of Police Examiners ap-
pointed by the Governor shall be the president of the Board
of Police Examiners. The Board may employ a temporary
secretary whenever necessary for keeping a record of the
proceedings thereof.
(h) All members of the Board of Police Examiners shall
take oath to perform their duties faithfully and impartially
and shall take the further oath of affirmation that in exam-
ining candidates for appointment or promotion, they shall
