CHAPTER 13
(House Bill 24)
AN ACT to repeal Section 10 of Article 88A of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "State
Department of Public Welfare", sub-title "Board of Wel-
fare", said section relating to the licensing of homes for
the aged.
WHEREAS, authority has been given to the State Health De-
partment to license hospitals and nursing homes, under which
authority the Health Department now is licensing those homes
for the aged which give custodial care, these being the only
homes for the aged which ever have been licensed; now there-
fore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 10 of Article 88A of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "State Department of
Public Welfare", sub-title "Board of Welfare", be and it is
hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

(House Bill 25)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
16B of Article 88A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1947 Supplement), title "State Department of Public Wel-
fare", sub-title "Child Care", relating to the licensing of
child care agencies.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 16B of Article 88A of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "State Department of
Public Welfare", sub-title "Child Care", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
16B. (Licenses. ) The following institutions, agencies,
societies and individuals shall obtain a license from the State
for the activities herein mentioned: (a) all institutions,
