furnish such virus to the physicians of the State, gratuitously,
when called for; said Board shall keep a record of the name
and location of each physician so furnished with virus, to-
gether with the quantities, qualities and number of times.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 12
(House Bill 22)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 2
of Article 88A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "State Department of Public Welfare",
sub-title "Board of Welfare", to remove obsolete language
in and clarify the provisions of said Section 2.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 2 of Article 88A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "State Department of
Public Welfare", sub-title "Board of Welfare7', be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
2. The Board of Public Welfare shall consist of nine mem-
bers to be appointed by the Governor, one of whom shall be
designated by the Governor as Chairman. All members shall
hold office for staggered terms of six years, the terms of three
members expiring on June 1st of every second year. In case
of a vacancy for any reason, the Governor shall appoint a
member for the remainder of the unexpired term. The mem-
bers of the Board shall receive no salary for their services, but
their expenses incurred in attending meetings or performing
other official duties shall be paid on certificate of the Director
of Public Welfare and upon warrant of the Comptroller.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
