952-A. The County Commissioners of Prince George's Coun-
ty are hereby authorized and empowered to establish a Rec-
reation Board for Prince George's County, hereinafter re-
ferred to as the Board, to perform the duties specified in this
Act. The Board shall be composed of four (4) members, who
shall be appointed by the County Commissioners and selected
in the following manner: One member to represent the Board
of Education to be recommended thereby; one member to
represent the County Commissioners; and one member se-
lected from among the citizens of Prince George's County re-
siding in the Mary land- Washington Metropolitan District and
not a member or employee of any official county agency or
political subdivision thereof: and the fourth member to be
one of the members of The Maryland-National Capital Park
and Planning Commission, appointed from Prince George's
County.
952-B. The Board shall select, from among its members, a
Chairman and an Executive Secretary both of whom shall
serve in these capacities during their respective terms of office.
Members of the Board shall each receive an annual com-
pensation of Five Hundred Dollars ($500. 00), payable quar-
terly, and the member selected as Executive Secretary shall
receive an additional Five Hundred Dollars ($500. 00), per
annum. In- addition to the foregoing, each member, including
the Chairman, shall receive a reasonable allowance for travel-
ing and other expenses incidental to the performance of his
duties, not to exceed Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250. 00)
per annum.
Terms of membership on the Board shall be two (2) years
for the members representing the Board of Education and
the County Commissioners, three (3) years for the citizen
member, and the duration of the term of office of the member
from The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Com-
mission. Members shall be eligible for reappointment. Vacan-
cies shall be filled for the unexpired term in the same manner
as original appointments.
952-C. The first meeting of the Board shall be held within
thirty days after the effective date of the appointments. There-
after, the Board shall hold at least four meetings each year
and additional meetings or hearings shall be held at the call
of the Chairman or at the request of two members of the
Board. Three members of the Board shall constitute a quorum.
All acts of the Board shall be by resolution, and records of the
business and actions taken at each meeting shall be kept by
the Board. Meetings and hearings of the Board shall be held
in the Prince George's County Regional Office of The Mary-
