(1) To pay the yearly operating expenses of said system.
(2) To pay the interest on and the redemption of all sewer
and water bonds which may fall due in such year.
(3) To annually place a reasonable amount for deprecia-
tion to said system into a depreciation reserve.
(4) To pay for extensions or capital improvements to said
system incurred during such year.
(5) To retain any balance in a reserve for emergency re-
pairs to said system.
ELECTRIC PLANT DEPARTMENT
101. (Department. ) There shall be an Electric Plant De-
partment, the head of which shall be the Electric Plant
Superintendent, who shall be appointed by the Town Com-
missioners and hold such office at their pleasure.
102. (Powers. ) The Town Commissioners, through the
Electric Plant Department, are authorized and empowered
to construct, operate and maintain an electric light, heat
and power system, and they shall have the following powers
in connection therewith, to wit:
(1) To construct, erect, extend, enlarge or acquire by pur-
chase, lease, gift, devise, or by condemnation in the manner
prescribed in Article 33A of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, an electric light, heat and power system sufficient for
the purpose of properly lighting the streets and alleys of
the Town and for furnishing citizens, inhabitants and corpo-
rations of the Town, Queen Anne's County and Caroline
County, Maryland within and adjacent to the Town of
Bridgetown with electricity in all forms and for all pur-
poses.
The term "system" employed in this sub-title shall include
lands or interests therein, buildings, leases, machinery, en-
gines, poles, wires, vehicles, equipment and other appliances
necessary or advisable for the production of electricity or
other power and its transmission to the point of consump-
tion, together with the lamps and fixtures required for
lighting the streets and alleys aforesaid.
(2) To sell electricity or other power upon such terms
and conditions and for such rates as the Town Commis-
sioners may from time to time determine.
(3) To provide for the collection of such rates and the
discontinuing of any such service.
