whom shall perform the duties incident to the office of such
an officer in a corporation.

55. (Bonds. ) The Treasurer, so selected as aforesaid, be-
fore entering upon his duties as such officer, shall give bond
to the State of Maryland with such sureties as may be ap-
proved by said Town Commissioners and in such penalty as
they shall prescribe, conditioned for the faithful discharge
of his duties and such other conditions as the Town Com-
missioners may prescribe.

56. (Town Funds. ) All taxes and moneys received by the
Town Commissioners, its officers or any of its departments,
shall be deposited in such bank or banks of the State select-
ed by them and shall only be paid out upon checks signed
by the Town Treasurer and counter-signed by one of the
other Town Commissioners in payment of debts, demands
and accounts due by the Town or any of its departments,
after the same have been duly approved and passed by the
Town Commissioners.

57. (Annual Statements. ) As soon after the end of each
calendar year as is practicable the Town Commissioners
shall have the books and accounts of the Town and all of
its departments audited by competent certified public ac-
countants and published in a newspaper printed and publish-
ed in the Town.

58. (Meetings. ) The Town Commissioners shall meet at
least once every week in regular session, at such time as
they, may determine, to act upon such municipal business as
may come before them. The Town Commissioners may meet
in special sessions as much oftener as they may think proper.
A majority shall be a quorum for the consideration of muni-
cipal business.

59. (Witnesses. ) The Town Commissioners are authorized
to summon and compel the attendance of witnesses and the
production of books and papers before them, whenever it
may be necessary for the effective discharge of their public
duties and responsibilities.

ELECTIONS

60. (General Election. ) A general election shall be held
on the first Monday of April in each and every year for the
election of one Town Commissioner and for the submission
to the voters of said Town of such ordinances and special
issues as the Town Commissioners may determine.
