50. (Term. ) Each of the Town Commissioners now hold-
ing said office, or his duly qualified successor, shall hold such
office for the term for which he was elected or appointed,
and thereafter each commissioner shall hold office for a
period of three (3) years from the first Friday in April
next succeeding his election, or until his successor has been
duly elected and qualified, but no commissioner shall hold
office for more than two (2) consecutive three (3) year
terms.

51. (Oath of Office. ) Before entering upon the duties of
his office, each of said Town Commissioners shall qualify by
taking an oath to be administered by the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court of Queen Anne's County that he will diligently
and faithfully, to the best of his skill and judgment, perform
the duties of Town Commissioner of said Town, without
favor, partiality or prejudice, and a certificate of such quali-
fication shall be returned by the said Clerk to the Town
Commissioners and be filed and recorded among their pro-
ceedings.

52. (Vacancies. ) If any of said Town Commissioners
duly elected shall refuse or neglect to qualify, die, remove
from the Town, resign, or become otherwise disqualified or
unable to perform the duties of his office, his place shall be
filled for the remainder of his term by the selection of some
one possessing the qualifications for Town Commissioner
aforesaid by the remaining Town Commissioners. Within
ten days after such appointment, the person so selected
shall qualify by taking the oath aforesaid before the Clerk
of the Circuit Court of Queen Anne's County, a certificate
of such appointment and such oath to be filed and recorded
among the proceedings of the said Town Commissioners.

53. (Salary. ) Each Town Commissioner shall receive a
salary of Three Hundred Dollars ($300. 00) per annum, of
which the sum of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150. 00) shall
be payable out of the General Funds of said Town and One
Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150. 00) shall be payable out of
the funds of the Centreville Electric Plant, but in the event
said Electric Plant shall ever be sold or leased, then the
salaries of the Town Commissioners shall be paid out of the
General Fund of said Town.

54. (Officers. ) The Town Commissioners shall, at the first
regular meeting to be held after the qualification of each,
select from among themselves one person as President, one
person as Secretary and one person as Treasurer, each of
