shall be paid such salaries or remuneration and have such
authority and duties as prescribed by the Board of Alder-
men or as provided for in this sub-title. Any qualified voter
in the Town shall be eligible for appointment to the Election
Board.

(j) Town Attorney. The Mayor shall appoint and may
dismiss a Town Attorney who shall perform such duties and
receive such compensation as prescribed by ordinance. He
shall be an attorney eligible to practice before the Circuit
Court of the County in which the Town lies, but he need
not be a resident of the Town he serves.

(k) General Provisions. All appointed officials shall serve
from the time of their appointment until their successors
have been duly appointed and qualified except as herein
otherwise provided. Nothing herein shall prevent the Mayor
or an Alderman from performing the duties and holding the
office of Town Attorney or any other position except that of
Town Secretary and Treasurer or a member of the Election
Board. Any of the aforegoing appointive officials may be
removed from office by order of the Mayor, except as herein
otherwise provided.

8. (Metes and Bounds. ) The Town of Liberty town as in-
corporated herein shall be contained within the following
metes and bounds:

Beginning at the northwest corner of the present High
School Grounds and running thence with the north edge
thereof, (1) S. 763/8° E., 739. 0 feet; thence (2) N. 541/8° E.,
1703. 5 feet to a point in the middle of the Woodsboro Road
(Md. Route No. 550) at the end of the north line of the
Catholic Cemetery extend westward; thence reversely there-
with, (3) S. 881/18° E., 2347. 0 feet to the northeast corner of
the Catholic Cemetery; thence with the two following lines
(the bearings and distances thereof being estimates, so as to
avoid trespass); (4) S. 35° E., 1600. 0 feet to the middle of
the north culvert wall of the first culvert east of Libertytown
on Maryland Route No. 26; thence (5) S. 54° W., 3400. 0 feet
to the cross joint in the New Market Road (Md. Route No. 75)
and at the end of 210 feet on a line drawn S. 141/8° W., from
the intersection of the middle of Dorsey Jones' land with the
middle of the said road; thence (6) N. 36° W., 868. 0 feet to
the middle of the bridge over Town Branch in Dorsey Jones'
lane; thence (7) N. 185/8° W., 1071. 0 feet to the southwest
corner of Jeff Shelton's lot; thence (8) N. 87y2° W., 1395. 0
feet to the southwest corner of Fairmount Cemetery; (9) N.
465/8° W., 793. 0 feet to the southwest corner of the High
