authority of this Act are redeemed, six cents (6c) on each
One Hundred Dollars ($100 of assessable property, to be
collected according to law, to meet the interest on the
amount of said certificates outstanding, and also to meet
and redeem so much of the principal in each of said years
as may be represented by certificates redeemable in each
year, respectively.
SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and being passed upon a yea and nay vote supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

(Senate Bill 529)
AN ACT to clarify the provisions of Item No. 5, Page 139 of
Senate Bill No. 144 relative to the distribution of a part of
the income taxes to the several political sub-divisions of the
State.
WHEREAS, Item No. 5 on Page 139 of Senate Bill No. 144,
merely contains a reference to the distribution of income taxes
as authorized by Chapter 277 of the Acts of 1939; and
WHEREAS, the reference should be to Chapter 279 of the
Acts of 1939, as amended; and
WHEREAS, it was the intention of the General Assembly, in
providing for the distribution of the income taxes, to have
said taxes distributed in accordance with the provisions of
Section 258 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1947 Supplement); now therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted "by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Item No. 5, Page 139 of Senate Bill No. 144 of
the 1949 Session of the General Assembly shall be construed
to provide for the distribution of income taxes to the political
sub-divisions of the State in accordance with the provisions
of Section 258 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
