SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 504

(House Bill 1)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
71 and 72 of Article 17 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Edition), title "Clerks of Courts", sub-title "Clerks
of the Circuit Courts'7, eliminating certain provisions
which cannot be complied with at the present time and au-
thorizing the making of micro-film pictures or copies of
certain papers filed with the Clerks of Courts.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 71 and 72 of Article 17 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Clerks of Courts",
sub-title "Clerks of the Circuit Courts", be and they are here-
by repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

71. Every clerk, after he records any deed, mortgage, re-
lease of mortgage, or lease of real estate shall make or have
made a 35 mm. micro-film picture or copy of every such record
and transmit said micro-film pictures or copies to the Com-
missioner of the Land Office, at the end of each year.

72. Every clerk shall make a 35 mm micro-film picture or
copy of the general index to the records of any deed, mort-
gage, release of mortgage, or lease of real estate when re-
quested by the Commissioner of the Land Office.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
