ending June 30, 1946, and June 30, 1947. After the adop-
tion of such a resolution, the part of the excess revenues
so dedicated shall be applied exclusively to the payment
of such interest and principal and to no other purpose.
Such a resolution shall operate to reduce the State Tax
rate on real and personal property for the fiscal years
ending June 30, 1946, and June 30, 1947, by the amount
so dedicated to the State debt. Immediately upon the adop-
tion of such a resolution, the Governor shall issue a procla-
mation setting forth the amount of such reduction in the
State Tax rate, and the resulting rate for the fiscal years
ending June 30, 1946, and June 30, 1947, respectively.
This Act shall not apply to dedicated funds. Provided,
however, that in the discretion of the Board of Public
Works all or any part of such excess revenues may be
applied to the payment of the interest and principal of the
State debt, payable during the fiscal years ending June
30th, 1946, and June 30th, 1947, and/or for the reduction
of the income tax in such amount or amounts or in such
proportions as said Board shall determine or the Board of
Public Works may in its discretion dedicate such surplus
or any part thereof to a post-war construction fund, as
shall be determined by said Board.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1945.

(Senate Bill 356)

AN ACT to repeal Section 344 of Article 7 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Carroll County, " sub-title "Sheriff, " as said Section
was amended by Chapter 179 of 1943, and to repeal and
re-enact, with amendments, Sections 342 and 343 of
said Article, relating to the compensation, expense and
duties of the Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff of Carroll
County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 344 of Article 7 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll County, "
sub-title "Sheriff, " be and it is hereby repealed and Sec-
tions 342 and 343 of said Article be and they are hereby
